the weather is as temperamental as the mountains and the ocean, so it may be sunny one moment but a tsunami the next.
the ocean, though composed of salt, is filtered by a reef which makes it safe for drinking though it is advised to find a water source elsewhere on the territory. the rapids are far out in the depths and considered harmless to the young and the old, though caution should be had at all times. the shore is not sand nor shards of glass but smooth rocks and boulders, worn down by the constant beat of the waves during high tide.
a forest rest betweens the mountains and the ocean, acting as a sort of barrier. the trees are all indigenous to the area, and the predators and prey accordingly. made of dense material, rarely will the floor be littered with leaves or wreckage of fallen trees. as one gets closer to the mountain range, small caves become more common; as one retreats to the ocean, the prey becomes less plentiful but larger and more challenging, including wild direboar and megaloceros
the mountain range is three miles from the coast, and the semi-warmth at the edge of the water is lost on the ice caps. Snow fringes the tops of the lowest crests, and clouds dominate the highest. there are very few villages within the territory, and most of them are pressed against the mountains for safety against the sea and for the trade routes which run in a zigzag along the side of the range. the villages hold no humans and are named in the tongue of the original werebears, nordic, and commonly have something to do with the range or bears.

the werebears are known for living in mountain ranges and coastal areas, so its no surprise their hold is against the ocean, bordered by the vastest and most frigid range on the planet. the meaning of finding such a reserved and inhospitable place was by sheer luck and fate.m a i n l a n d |

"rule under the mountains and conquer above the sea." - king black ghost

the best thing about the castle is that only bears know how to reach it, and only bears leave it alive, and that’s really only because they have been proven innocent or have been exiled. king bjork was the one who had the main trade route to the castle destroyed to deter his brother, exiled prince svi, from being able to return and exact his revenge. the singular human village is about a mile’s journey from the castle, and it is this village that plays an integral part to the safety and functionality of the castle.l o c a t i o n |

king black ghost’s words are engraved on the highest spire of the brutally powerful stronghold. broad and tall, the highest tip is hidden by one of the shortest mountain tops in the hopes of their enemies assuming them under the highest mountain, which is five miles to the south of the castle. the inside is spacious and some of the roof is literally made of ice, having been built where an ice ledge, seventy feet thick, cut into construction. the castle as of yet has never undergone a makeover. the castle has unlimited rooms, but the dining room is in the middle of the castle, and the largest room, and the highest floor is reserved for servants and the royals. the servants’ quarters are wherever they deign to sleep although outside of their masters’ view.i n h a b i t a n t s |
the only bears allowed to live permanently in the castle are the royals and the servants, most of whom are not bears but canines trained by humans, who live nearby under the protection of the royals, to work for the bears. the royals are allowed to authorize bears of their choice to roam the halls and their assigned quarters, but otherwise very few have been able to map out the castle’s twisting halls and maze-like corridors.
